YSI incorporates enzyme electrode technology into compact, automated instruments (YSI 2700 & 7100) that measure xylose and glucose simultaneously during fermentation. The Test takes 1 minute and can be performed by anyone. The YSI results correlate well with HPLC at a significantly lower cost per test.

EASY TO OPERATE

Unlike HPLC, YSI analysers do not require highly trained individuals to obtain meaningful results. The Analyser is self calibrating, self cleaning, and totally automated. Most samples require simple filtration and dilution.

To perform a test ....

  • Simply pour a very small amount of filtered sample into a disposable test tube
  • Push the "sample" button to aspirate a few microlitres
  • Wait 1 minute for the results to be displayed and saved to a file
  • The analyser then washes out old sample and stands by for the next sample

  • Perform check solutions daily.  On-board diagnostics continually check most functions
  • The 6-month preventative maintenance can be performed by users in about half an hour
