Our new Training Facility has been used for Service Training of the first group of engineers from Belgium, Netherlands and Portugal.

Next training session is planned for 7-8th September 2010.

As from January 2010 YSI (UK) Ltd has the additional responsibility of Sales and Technical support of the YSI Life Sciences dealer network in Europe, Africa, India and the Middle East.

We are actively involved in promoting the YSI Life Sciences products in the territories with our direct sales responsibility and we have recently exhibited or are looking forward to meeting with you at the following events:

YSI (UK) LIMITED now to supply YSI Life Sciences products in Ireland

Due to organisational changes, YSI (UK) Limited has with immediate effect assumed full responsibility for the sales, service and technical support of the YSI Life Sciences product range to Ireland.  This area was previously supported by YSI Hydrodata Ltd. 

 

YSI - CELEBRATING 60 YEARS

1948  -  2008 . . . .  CELEBRATING 60 YEARS OF DISCOVERING SOLUTIONS FOR A HEALTHY PLANET

In 1948 several engineers from Antioch College in Ohio came up with interesting and innovative mechanical timers and sensors for researchers at the Wright Air Field in Dayton.  After a few successes with this client, our small enterprise, known then as the Yellow Springs Instrument Company was formed.  Today we have grown into a global company.  Our products remain focused on sensing changes in environments (such as water, air, blood, and chemical mixtures) and providing this critical data to those who work to protect natural resources and enhance life.

YSI LIFE SCIENCES - SOME KEY DATES:

• 1955 - First interchangeable thermistor temperature probes, used extensively in US space programme
• 1956 - YSI components in first commerical heart-lung machine, marking the beginning of several decades of collaboration with Dr Leland Clark
• 1963 - Introduced dissolved oxygen meter for field and laboratory
• 1965 - First biological oxygen monitor
• 1972 - Developed immobilised-membrane enzyme-activated polarographic sensor technology with Dr Clark
• 1975 - First commercially successful whole blood glucose analyser, positioning YSI as the 'industry standard' in glucose measurement
• 1988 - Introduced multiparameter platform for automated biochemistry analyser
• 1991 - Clandon Scientific (now YSI UK Limited) became wholly-owned YSI distribution company
• 1993 - ISO 9001 certification 
• 1996 - Opened new state-of-the-art research & development facility at Ohio Headquarters
• 1997 - Opened office in Japan.
• 1998 - Opened office in Hong Kong
• 1999 - ISO 14001 Environmental Standards certification
• 2001 - Opened first office in China
• 2003 - Received State of Ohio Third Frontier grant for development of new sensor technology
• 2005 - Opened office in Bahrain
• 2007 - Opened office in Spain
• 2008 - Opened offices in India and Australia
• 2008 - Introduced membrane for xylose measurement of cellulosic materials for biofuel processing
• 2009 - Opened office in Australia
